I remember five years ago today. I was sitting in my History class, chatting away when my teacher, Mrs. Harris decides to turn on the news. And there was something I thought that I would never see, something I would never dream of. In the small town of Littleton Colorado, whose story will forever change the world.
It's been five years. I was in the eighth grade when this all happen. Its so horrific. And not forgotten either. In my speech and drama classroom, we have a thank-you letter, from the forensic team in littleton, thanking our forensic team for the support. How unreal it all is.
Just this morning, Good Morning America showcased another school brutality. But this time it involved physical muscles. A seventeen year old boy almost beat the life out of a fourteen year old boy. What makes this even sicker is that it was on a school bus, with the driver on, ON SCHOOL PROPERTY STILL. The bus hadn't left the school yet. No one was stopping this bully from beating the boy, who was getting no help from anyone around. There were kids laughing, kids just staring, not doing anything. The fourteen year old boy was left with multiple fractures around the eye sockets and all over his face. Where this happened I didn't catch that. I was horrified byt the fact that no one has any sympathy now days. Yeah we watch the movies, but see that is fake. Even I like watching action movies. But when it comes to real life fights, I cannot stand to watch them. Because someone is going to win, and the loser never turns out pretty. But they caught it on the video tape. The bus had a camera. They showed the beating on national televison this morning. The bus driver didn't do anything.
I was looking in the archives at abcnews.com and I found another story. This time about a little kindergartener who was pushed out of the back of a moving bus by a fellow school mate. The little boy had to have 32 staples all together just to close the wound.
What has happened to today's society? Yes you can say that its the damn entertainment that we are watching. But its not. Something bad is happening with the generations after mine. What's going on?
